to my page about fine art

welcome

I have been a photographer for more or less 15 years and a few years ago I felt that I needed to add something else to my portfolio. I wanted to develop myself.

So, I was looking around for workshops in Europe and at the same time there was an opening in a workshop for the Polish/Brittish Paulina Duczman Fine Art Photographer in Milan in Italy.
I lived in Lausanne at that time and Milan is only a three hours train trip from Lausanne so I thought that would be perfect.

I signed up for the workshop, booked my tickets and I called my sister and my sister in law in Sweden to ask them if they wanted to come with me to Milan for a weekend. I would do the workshop for one day and the other two could do some shopping while I was away. Then we had a few more days together. Awesome! -They said yes. :)

Paulina's workshop was perfect. I had never thought that I was going to shoot in a studio, buy myself light boxes, backdrops, stands, transceivers, studio lights etc. Well, after this workshop I bought everything. I loved this new way of doing photography and I think these portraits are beautiful. They are classic portraits and will stand out for a long time. You can make them as personal as you want to with a Fine Art touch.

I hope you will enjoy my site and the photos of these gorgeous children. Maybe you would like to get a similar photo of your children too, so don't hesitate to contact me for more info.

I hope to see you one day!

Why did you start with fine art?

back to main

Hey there!
I am so excited you decided to stop by today. How are you?
I'm fine, and this is me in a few different settings. I love to ski, I love the mountains and I love to do weddings.
What do you love to do when you're not looking for a wedding photographer?

If you like my style and want to know more about me, here's a short story.
I just returned to Stockholm from 20 years abroad, Central America, Middle East, Asia and latest Europe. 3 kids, husband and a black Lab named Bella. I'm an easy going, service minded (used to be a ski guide in the French Alps) and calm person. Every morning I cuddle my dog when I drink my coffee and I serve my family with home maid müsli and sourdough bread. (But only when I want to do it.) I think that I was originally born in the Alps like the girl Heidi but my mom says I was born in Gothenburg. I don't know who to believe actually. ;)

I have a summer house in Fjällbacka and that's also where I got married and that's where I do most of my weddings. I know that place by heart, I know the people there and all the perfect surroundings for portraits.

What's your story? I would love to hear more about you. Let's connect and please send me a message in contacts and tell me more about you and your plans.

experience

It is important that you and your child feel comfortable and prepared. We will begin by looking through the clothes, showing the children the camera, lights and backdrop to ensure a calm and pleasing environment. We can put some music on which is fun for the kids.

Fine Art is different compared to a normal outdoor photo session, therefore, I will be posing the kids for the desired outcome. We will be changing clothes, using different props and the fan might be on. As you can tell by looking att my pictures we don't want any huge laughter in the pictures. We want the kids to be happy but no big smiles. Those we keep until the camera is off. :)
Lastly, I want everyone to have a good experience and enjoy themselves.

Once your photo session is booked and confirmed, I will contact you to book a pre-session consultation.

We will begin by discussing your expectations for the photo-session, any ideas which you might have or ideas and inspiration you have. Then, we will begin to explore the different color palettes for the photos in regards to backdrop, clothing and props. The different elements will contribute to the mood and tone of the pictures therefore, it is important to carefully consider our options. Lastly, I will explain the layout of the photo session, what you should expect and of course answer any of your last questions!

My goal is to prepare you and answer any questions that you may have. My goal for the pre session consultation is to listen to you and discuss the photo session so that we can create beautiful and unique portraits.

Once the session is finished, I pick out the best images and lightly edit them and then I will send you a link for you to se the photos online. You will then make the hard decision of picking out your favourite pictures. Next, the pictures will be carefully edited in color and black and white.

After 2 weeks, your pictures will be finished. You will be able to view the finished images online. We will discuss the best way of delivery, by mail or if you pick them up at my place.

You can always order extra prints to frame and  hang on your wall at home.

This is really an investment in time and money and for the future. A portrait of your child, your children, you and your baby or maybe even your beloved pet. A classic portrait can never go out of fashion. It's a portrait for generations to come.

I have my own studio lights so don't worry about the light.

The photo session takes about 1-2 hours. It's always a little bit of an adjustment time before you feel comfortable in front of the camera and it's completely normal. We can also put on some music to get more relaxed and we'll have fun! Don't worry!

The backgrounds I use comes from England and are all handmade, hand painted on real canvas, and costume made for me. I have a brown one, a dark blue and an olive green background for this setting. I can't wait to meet you for this session!

I have some clothes for the photo session but during the PRE-CONSULTATION we will discuss what kind of clothes your child will wear.

If you or your child get sick we will reschedule the photo session. That is no problem. We pick a new date for you.

Yes, you can order albums and more prints if you want to. Just ask when you want to order your photos. The photos are the most beautiful printed on Fine Art paper.

Of course you can, all children are always welcome.

No I'm not using make up. If you want to put some mascara on your child (older ones) it's up to you. The more natural the better I think.

That's no problem. We adjust the session after the child and if she/he needs a break, we take a break. Most of the children will sit still when it comes to take a photo with a photographer. I might ask the mom to read a book or not to engage too much in the session unless it's necessary.

At the moment I don't have a studio. I just moved back from living abroad for 20 years so I'm still moving in to my own house and trying to
get settled. I can come to you to do the photos session in your home. I just need a little bit of space, like a living room. Small or big it doesn't matter. This is something we can discuss when you book your session.

No, don't bring your toys. Only if we decide that together on our Pre-Consultation.

is this really for me - YES!
